Greentree Christian Church in Rolla collected its annual Thanksgiving offering on Sunday November 20th and raised $153,178 for Rapha House. Over the last few months, many in the church held fundraisers to earn money to donate.
On November 30, 2016, the VA had a ribbon-cutting for their new Community Based Outpatient Clinic in St. James. The new clinic is located at 207 Matlock Drive. The VA clinic in St. James is one of eight community-based outpatient clinics affiliated with Truman VA in Columbia, Missouri.
Southwest Baptist University Salem Campus celebrated its 30th anniversary with a ceremony and open house last week. Congressman Smith is excited to see that the campus will be adding a nursing program starting in summer 2017. SBU's new Registered Nurse Bridge Program Facility includes a new large classroom, office space, and 3-bed learning center with a simulation lab.
The City of Rolla and the Rolla Chamber of Commerce prepared for Small Business Saturday with a Ribbon Cutting in downtown Rolla on November 21st. Rolla Mayor Lou Magdits read the Proclamation for the event.
