Linda Doyel was chosen as one of the 10 statewide “Outstanding Older Workers” awards. She is employed by the Rolla Sheltered Workshop, and was nominated for this award by her manager. I was humbled by the opportunity to honor her accomplishments in a letter presented to her by my staff. Great job, Linda!
Southeast and South Central Missouri run on the power provided by Missouri Rural Electric Cooperatives. I had a great time visiting their team at the Missouri State Fair along with Senator Blunt, Congresswoman Hartzler, Congressman Long and Congresswoman Wagner.
Congratulations to Edward King who grew up in Ironton and competed as part of the United States Lightweight Men's Four Rowing team at the Rio Olympics. King is a 2007 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School and is also a US Naval Academy graduate. King is now a officer in the Navy. What a terrific honor to compete in the Olympics to represent the state of Missouri and Team USA.

On Friday, August 5th, Congressman Smith visited Triple D Peanut Farm in Sikeston as part of his Farm Tour. This is the second year that the Deane family has raised peanuts and the first year was such a success that they tripled the size of their planting.
On Friday, August 5th, Congressman Jason Smith visited the Bunge grain elevator in Caruthersville. The Bunge grain elevator ships rice, corn, wheat and soybeans from Southeast Missouri throughout the world.

The Rudd Family is a hard-working family that takes innovative approaches to their cattle operation, including a new covered grazing area for their calves that prevents runoff and protects their herd.
