Congressman Jason Smith kicked off his third annual Farm Tour Monday, which included a stop at Brandywine Blueberry Farm on County Road 7160 near Rolla. During the Farm Tour, Smith is traveling to each of the 30 counties in Missouri’s 8th Congressional District and highlighting the robust role that agriculture and farming play in our area. “Brandywine Blueberry Farm is an example of how family farms aren’t just important to our rural economy, they are important to the community,” said Smith. “Conversations on the Farm Tour with folks across southeast and southern Missouri, like Pat Marti (of Brandywine), help me advocate for them back in Washington.” Monday was the first day of his tour, which also included scheduled stops to cattle farms near Steelville and Potosi and a garlic farm near Licking. Smith also was scheduled to meet with the Country Kids 4-H Club at Lucy Wortham James Elementary in St. James.
