WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jason Smith (Mo.) coauthored a series of measures to support Israel, condemn Hamas, and hold Iran accountable for funding terror activities.

“Israel has every right to defend itself against the terrorists who massacred over a thousand innocent civilians – including children and babies,” said Smith. “The Israeli people are fighting for their survival, and the U.S. has an obligation to ensure Israel – one of our strongest allies and closest friends – has the resources and support it needs in this war. It is absolutely unacceptable that the liberal media and radical Leftists, including Palestinian student groups, Black Lives Matter chapters, and members of Congress – including one from Missouri’s congressional delegation – are trying to blame Israel for the atrocities carried out by Hamas terrorists. It is vital that we send a clear signal to the world that America stands with the Israeli people in their fight against the barbaric Iran-backed terrorists who carried out the largest mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust.”

Smith is a tireless advocate for Israel and a staunch opponent of policies and legislation that embolden Iran.

Smith coauthored a bipartisan resolution standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists. The resolution is supported by a bipartisan group of over 400 House members.

Smith also coauthored legislation to block Iran, the largest state-sponsor of terror, from accessing the $6 billion in funds that the Biden administration unfroze on September 11, 2023.

In addition, Smith signed onto a resolution urging the Biden administration to secure the release of Americans held hostage, return to a policy of maximum sanctions regime against Iran, and demand the recently released $6 billion in Iranian funds be refrozen.
