The Leader of a Free and More Peaceful World

October 17, 2025

President Trump has just delivered one of the most remarkable accomplishments of his second term, which is hard to do considering the long list of achievements his administration has notched in such a short period of time. On October 9th, Israel and Hamas signed a peace agreement, brokered by President Trump, to bring an end to a war in the Holy Land that has ravaged the region since Hamas’ brutal attack on Israeli civilians just over two years ago.

President Trump has secured an agreement to end the Israeli-Hamas war and to usher in a new era of peace in the Middle East. The last remaining living Israeli hostages from the October 7 attacks were reunited with their families as a consequence of this deal. Under the agreement, the bodies of the hostages who sadly lost their lives at the hands of the evil terrorist organization Hamas are to be returned home as well.

This achievement would not have been possible under the previous administration who was held captive by their antisemitic and radical base, and it only underscores that President Trump’s policy of peace through strength is the only way to hold our adversaries – and those who threaten our allies – accountable. By standing firmly behind Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, and making clear to Hamas that there would be overwhelming consequences if they failed to agree to a peace deal, President Trump was able to get both sides to the table.

In just under nine months, President Trump has successfully negotiated the end of eight conflicts around the globe. This latest achievement is truly so remarkable even many of the Left have been forced to commend President Trump, including former President Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and former President Biden. The mainstream media, who will find any way to criticize Republicans and the Trump Administration, have fallen in line, with one journalist acknowledging, “There is more hope for peace in the Middle East tonight than there has been for a very long time.”

Unfortunately, there is more work to do. In the aftermath of the October7, 2023 attacks, the Ways and Means Committee, which I chair, received evidence of numerous tax-exempt nonprofits across the United States who receive generous taxpayer funded benefits, yet we now know have credible ties to foreign terrorist organizations, including Hamas. These organizations have fueled antisemitic protests on U.S. college campuses and violence across the United States.

American taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize organizations linked to terrorist organizations overseas, as well as violence and unrest here at home. Earlier this month, I called on the IRS to revoke the tax-exempt status of eight organizations that have fueled the rise in antisemitism and sown discord in our society. The days of turning a blind eye to the nonprofit sector are over.

President Trump has proven that America’s leadership still matters on the world stage, and that peace is possible when strength, resolve, and America First foreign policy guide our actions. As we look ahead, we must match that same courage at home by defending our values, protecting our citizens, and ensuring that the forces of hate and division never find refuge under the banner of American taxpayer generosity.
