Trump for approving Missouri’s request to authorize a federal disaster declaration in the State of Missouri. Today’s federal disaster declaration will make available desperately needed federal assistance to support Missouri’s recovery efforts.

Representative Smith said, “I’ve always said the People of Missouri love President Trump, and today’s news will be further reason. I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation to President Trump for approving the State of Missouri’s federal disaster declaration that will help thousands of struggling Missouri families – the majority of whom are in the 8th Congressional District – and their communities, get back on their feet. The devastation in Missouri caused by severe weather in recent weeks, including several violent tornadoes, has taken lives and left countless more without homes, power, or property. 

“President Trump’s swift approval of this disaster declaration underscores his commitment and support for the State of Missouri and paves the way for a coordinated response from both the state and federal governments to begin deploying essential aid. I thank the president again for his commitment to our state and our recovery efforts.”
